Weee

I'm in Tunjungan Plaza at the moment. The last day of PCU Open House in its Convention Hall. Surabayans IYF-ers were here to accompany me. Not much people here, since then. They're so loud ha ha ha. Icchan Jie, if you can send me the pic you took, it'll be great!

I brought two books with me and plus, I told Icchan Jie to bought me the latest series of Princess Diaries in Indonesian. Princess in Waiting. Finally, I got it, Dhiet! The other books that I brought with me is Darren Shan's and Erich Segal's. If only I could remember the title.

It's two hours before leaving this place. The food and and the snacks were great. It's yummy and delicious.

Thank you all for your comments, if I'll be online after the Monday holiday, and I will reply all your comments and questions. Urrgh, my back is aching. T_T

On a brighter side

I posted a friends-only entry on why I didn't write so much lately and when I do why did it feel so-not me? If you can't read it (you were not listed as my friend in tabulas nor LJ), email me and I'll send it to you.

The other day, I went with Lidya to Indomaret and found out that Global, our warnet of choice has been closed for good. *sigh*

And remember my ramblings about Malam Pertama? It's true, his name isn't Erwin Chandra, but Irwan Chandra. I knew it when I re-read the entry. :/ His latest sinetron called Bu Ce Li is aired tonight. So silly! Nice body though! And he and his Papi took a ship back to Lampung. It's been a long time since I travel with ships. T_T I miss the sea breeze, I miss the sickness, I missed the wave, I missed the stairs of the ship, I missed the caffee on the top. I missed the restaurants, I missed first-class rooms on the ship. I missed a lot of things about the ship. XD

Watching Ever After the other day surely messes up my body clock. That guy who played Prince Henry is so adorable. How did they persuaded him to wear those outfit? XD Saw the Goo Goo Dolls in MTV Jammed today reminds me of the actor. They have this same attraction, that makes me sigh everytime I realize it! XD

Dhiet, I've been reading Darren Shan's book. So far, I have reached #3. I was just trying out the book and the other wasn't so interesting as this one. There are a LOT of HINTS. *ecchi giggle* But, Evra's character is really something!

Watching AFI diari today. Kia is going to sing a Malay song! *glare at Anne and tYaS* Probably I should add AFI as one of my interest much much later XD

Uh, and RogerD got a Christian Chinese album out from Maranatha Records. I saw a promotional calendar of him when I went to drop my laundry in the Manna bookstore. *cough* I hope it's worthed to buy that album. His voice is...er.. rather irritating.

As usual I visited Dave's place and saw the CSS Zen Garden Indonesian translation. C'est terrible! Someone has to do something about that!

Downloaded the JAWS screen reader, not bad. I thought all this time, it was a browser but it's not. You just highlighted paragraphs you want the screen reader to read and voila, it will read it to you.

Christine has shown interest in terms of vocal training. I was always envy of people who can sing (mostly people in AFI academy) and more Lidya always critizing me whenever we sang at church (not the choir, of course), I got interested. But, shamely it costs 300K. Either that or Level 1 Japanese course.

Speaking of money, someone from Google.com offered me a job. More dollars to my pocket, but is it true? I've respond the email and hopefully it's not another internet fraud or scam.

God, I should probably getting some sleep. And I haven't made anything for the WordPress competition. T_T

Just saw a movie about a giant snake starring Wil Wheathon and Casper van Diem. Did I wrote his name right? Wil is the subject of my attention. I've seen him playing Cadet something in Star Trek: The Next Generation. And he has a blog, too :D But his role name in the movie makes me wanna puke!

Oh, and weekend spent with our real landlord and landlady is so enjoyable. They told us stories of their struggle as a young couple. The more I heard about it, the less I detest living large. Maybe, I'm too idealistic :/

CSS Validator Bug

This is what happened to me in the past. Why it just came into light now? Oh, well *shrugs* It doesn't happen if you use the media="all", but when it comes to media="screen" everything messed up.

Random Thoughts

Uhm, wow. I'm now fully booked for St. Valentine's Day. Morning we will go to the church. Pak Adi and Kak Veera is getting married there. This time, I don't need driver XDD They're going to marry in my church. I'm not sure if any want to attend the occasion with me. But Chris lives near by, I'm sure, she'll be there, if she hasn't any plan.

And after that, I have to rush and meet up with the girls from IYF Surabaya. We are going to have a gathering in Icchan's house again :p

The invitation was placed down nicely in front of BPIP Terminal 3 monitor. The design was quite good. And Bernard (one of the new MPW) said that the map was constructed just a day before :D The reception is going to be on the last day of this month. Man, they surely pick dates well. February 29 only comes every four years.

I gave up the calendar I got from Cosmo!Girl to Beby, because I got a 'Global Flows' 2004 Calendar of Toyota promoting its 2005 Expo in Aichi Japan from Pak Yo. The calendar design is nice. Reminded me of this calendar I wouldn't let go for many years, because the design was extreemly cool. The only thing wrong about that calendar besides it was out of date is that it was to promote cigarettes. X-(

I don't really have fun in the Open House if it wasn't for those three girls came and cheer me up. Oh, I have to show you guys the blurry pics we got with Icchan's camera. Ha ha ha. Anyways, no cute young guys appears there. And Beby regretfully blabbering when I told her, that her crush is wearing suit(?) and tie. And there was this huge poster of Yandi and Dini standing at the internal extrance. :D Ellen was there, too.

Met with Eddy when taking some drinks for the girls, who were browsing things that I-don't-want-to-know-what-will-happen-if-my-boss-found-out. He was very courteous. And gave some input about the library decoration for the Open House (we didn't decor it nicely!). It's very far from my image of him being a slicky and all.

Oh, it's raining. No surprises these days. It's the wet season. My father hastily SMSed me yesterday did we have flood or not. When it's actually very hot outside. My office had aircon. 'Flood what flood? It's not even raining', was my reply to him.

And I got an offer to work for 6 weeks doing something that I think I'm good at and get paid in dollars. And if I finish it ahead of schedule, I might got a bonus as well. The last time I have dollars is many years ago, when I started to blog, I guess. And it's only $350.

I have to close the window, now. The splashes is dangerous. Back to the job. It's not bad at all, I might don't have to ask my parents money until I graduated. That's if, I'm not a spender. When in fact, I am. XD I wish I can support myself better.

Does anyone had any objection over my long entries lately? If so, I'll cut it next time. How many paragraphs do you like? At max?

Pheew!

Today is First Study Submission day one. We had our Open Forum today. My name made it to the top 10 of 69 people left from class of 1999. Err, that's a surprise, the last time my name was on that projector was in the year 2000. XDD But, I guess no one pay attention to this except Nancy. That's because we sat in the back and all of us had myopic eyes. LOL!

I was confused over credits that I took in the past semesters. I eventually had to let go Advanced Calculus. If I wanted a major printed on my diploma or else, they'll write General. I still enroll for that class, though.

Been reading a lot of fiction lately. I've listed all in the reading part (left hand side of this blog). I better rushed home ASAP. I had something to tell to Lidya. *giggle* She's right! No one is perfect! *cruel laughter*

Headache

I have much much work to do and I'm confused which one should I go with first. Anyways, Kyo-kun!!!! Thanks for that Indomie thing you sent me. It's cute. I saw another version in CosmoGirl! March 2004 edition and Ellen told me they had it in Giant hypermarket. Gya! Wanna collect them all. :D Ciao!

WordPress Competition Browsing

The contest winners for the WordPress Stylesheets Competition has been announced for days now. Whoa! Their designs are very-very pretty. Especially number one.

I went to Naoko's blog (winner #1). Indeed she's very talented. Oh, she's also has the main blog in Japanese. And I notice the translate sticker, who knows it might be useful for the future It's faster and has no frames unlike the Nifty Translator. But, I don't know which has a better translation result.

From her page, I followed a link to Lex Designs. My gosh, it's so nice. You can see many blog templates there. And I guarantee, it's good! And there's also the Stylesheet Stylebook site. It's very nice!! (^_^)

Om Benteng

This character appears in the title of this entry has been the butt joke of me and Lidya for more than a week now. Here goes the story:

Inga waktu beta jaga Open House Petra? Nah, ternyata tu Ka Ika jaga bagian PPB.

Rough translation:
Remember when I was at the Open House? Kak Ika was there too, she worked in the Language Center. Out from nowhere came this old man and ask things. Later they found out that they're both Ambonese. Then he asked where did she lives in Ambon. Kak Ika answered. Then he replied with a husky, seducing voice: "I live in Benteng!" Benteng is the name of a place in Ambon. Megi told us this story and we laughed til our cheek hurts.

Valentine Madness

Me and Ico was dropped by Indra in Petra. After I take her to her boarding house, I told the driver onway to TP. It costs me 23K and he didn't gave me the 2K back >_< I wished I take Ico's money at least 1K, so I can give that all-giggling driver the exact sum of money. Leechers.

I got there too early. The appointment was at 2PM, I was in the food court at 1:38. I called/SMSed Icchan. While I wait, I have to stroll to find a place. When I finally did. I sat down and realize that I have nothing to drink. Yes, they gave us some cakes after the church ceremony but no drink.

Eventually, I met Milka and the gank. Thanks Milka for waiting at my table while I go to buy some drink. A glass of mineral water cost me 2K! *shakes head in disbelief* That's a robbery! Oh, well, I'm thirsty. Then, I head back to the table and had a small talk with Milka.

Then I notice Tio and a girl. I know the girl, but I can't remember her name. *evil smirk* You two are dead... tee hee. I told Milka that she's free to go after I got my drink. She left not long after. Then came Icchan, she's waits for me eating. I bought my lunch at Mealbox. It's pretty decent, the food tastes something unlike Katsuya's. But the rice was very little. It looked like a scoop of rice, instead a bowl of 'em. Then we went to see the cinema. Just as we walked, Neko joined us. Nyah! I gave her the chocolate coin from the wedding.

When we're at the cinema, Sanji and Masami joined us! Yay, I'm really happy. Then we asked does anyone wants to watch movie. They said okay. I saw American Wedding last week, which is not recommended. Sanji and Masami already watch The Last Samurai. And I don't like Hollywood glorious stereotypical movies. So either Uptown Girls or Old Creek Manor. We choose Uptown Girls.

Icchan and Neko lined up to bought the tickets. It was Icchan who got first served, so Neko move out of the next line When we got them we still got about 45 minutes til the movie. So we stroll around. To the bookstores of course. I didn't bought any, they did (^_^. There are two Indonesian versions of Le Petit Prince. Heh? Nothing much to say. Gunung Agung still got that Kanbayashi and Kirika series. I guess, I'll collect them next month.

I asked the girls if I could go to the Lippo ATM. They escort me there and I lost them. While taking some money, these two boys next to me, asking about should they go to watch a movie. Oh, no, forget it, let's just hang out together. Kita jalan bareng aja! *cough* My antenna raised up!

It is V-day. I met with Roy outside the studios. He said hi when I got out the toilet. He always say hi to me! No matter how do I look at any time, who I hanged out with at any time, or who he's with at any time. This is someone who's more honest in being friends with me compare to everybody I've met in Surabaya, with the exceptions of some very close friends. They ALWAYS see the situation before saying hi.

When we got in the studio, it's pretty empty. Probably the other couples watch American Wedding. To my surprise, the movie is so honest. Nothing seems out of place. It can be better yes, but the story itself is quite strong. Although, that 'Egyption Cotton Sheet' music video should be banished!

After the movie, we went to eat. We're terribly tired and the one place we can get to eat only served things that I don't really like. But, we're all tired, and I sat down and hungry as an elephant. I ordered Bakmi Seafood. Oh, gawd, the Bakmi is delicious, but eating the seafood is a struggle.

The lemon tea costs half of the bakmi! Rip off! After that we split and say good bye. I couldn't get a cab ASAP and when I do, the meter was going very fast, I believe when I'm not looking, he do something with the meter. So, I spent the whole time looking at the meter. When I got to Siwalan Kerto, the meter shows 21920. I gave him exactly 22000. Urgh, the taxi usually only costs no more than 18K on the way home. I never ride with that cab company anymore. People when you come to Surabaya look only for Blue Bird symbols.

Above all, I'M SO HAPPY TO HANG OUT WITH THE GIRLS. Thank you, guys! It was wonderful. Can do any better.

AFI and the rest of my weekend

When I got into my boarding house, Abang Veri has not yet sing. Thank you Lord! But, I missed Rini sang Melly's Kupu-kupu. Damned. Oh, well, I hear the songs composed for them. Ve is may I say, Ivan the Terrible? She sang awfully, after the break when the MC told them she was last.

And guess what, Rini was out. She is very very good that night, I don't know what's wrong with the audience. Why not Mawar or Ve?

This morning I watch The A Team. Wait a minute, it was yesterday. Half past midnite now. Murdock was reading a book when an old lady asking him, "Abnormal Psychology? Are you a psychologist?" His answer was so funny, "Oh, no, ma'am. I'm insane!" XDDD He said that so calmly and polite, just like a normal person.

I gossiped with Ey for 20 minutes. Well, I'm sleepy, so after bathe at 2 PM, I went to bed until 6. I think I heard Lidya coming. Well, I got to sleep now. Ja!

Today's

As I have blog about a few days ago. I went to Lex Design again. I read the site. She's the same age as me!!!! Well, I'm probably older a few months. She's very-very talented. I've seen many people older than me making great layouts and valid too, but I've never seen people of my range of age making valid and beautiful layouts like her. You should go to her website. She makes templates for MT, Diaryland, etc. Actually, it can be implemented anywhere.

And she had a link to Beautify. I'm going to check that soonish. I checked one link, Beuaticians.. they make standar compliant layouts designs.

I'm reading Digital Colour: for the Internet and other Media and Digital Layout: for the Internet and other Media. Both from AvaBooks.

I wonder if there a website where we can enter a keyword or more then it would tell what color we should use for website with that keyword.

Work, Projects, Other Works

I saw this girl that act in 5566's My MVP Valentine (aka MVP Lover) as the team's manager. Her name was Angela something. She sang beautifully, but I doubted if that's her real voice. *gets bricked* Come on, the voice is too professional coming out of her. The video was her on a beach wearing this white long dress with extreemly long white scarf and the main color of the video was blue and white. Do you know the song, Shun?

I re-read Sidney Sheldon's Sky is Falling. And read John Grisham's Skipping Christmas last weekend. This book is so different from John's other books, I laughed at the middle aged gigolo part. No lawyers questioning about their integrity or their principles. Hell, Ally is craving for the guy that came out of GQ!

I wish there's an easier way to search for a book's ISBN.

Nine days to Project Guttenberg redesign contest ends. I've made a thumbnail this afternoon. But, still no idea on the list, headers, paragraphs and the like.

The New PCU website template has not yet finished. But, I managed to make it more structural now, rather than that underpressure layout. Visually, it's the same, but structurely and semantically, it's better now. Less <div> tags. And I've managed make the content area width more consistent. The only problem was that annoying IE bug over min-height rule. When will this stupid browser embrace standards to the fullest. Don't they know, it'll make life much much easier for us? There are two hacks, I cannot figure out to implement Pixy's and the other one just won't work in Mozilla Firebird (yes, I know it's FireFox now!). I didn't follow them exactly, but I tried it.

My Internship isn't going well as planned. I'm not done with the design prototype yet, and I feel guilty as Beby is armed and prepared, but we still don't have any prototype to start coding. We're supposed to began coding two weeks ago, but we haven't started anything.

Plus, I've promised that I'll help Pak Yo with the ACUCA website project. And he said, I'm going to be paid double, but *sniff* there were just not enough time. I wish I have an internet connection at home.

And on top of that, I got this online job I just accept is so easy and very well paid. Only for six weeks though! Hey, once in a lifetime, you'll have to grab whatever chances possible. I enter into any interesting competition nowadays. It doesn't hurt to try it, right?

The interface makes me frustrated this afternoon, it cannot take some characters, even when I tried the HTML-way. I've been flooding my contact person's email too often with questions and arrangements. And I even have to emailed CRC staffs at my bank twice, to give me a SWIFT code and informed me about the wire transfer recipients fee.

I wished I had a US bank account where I can transfer the money to, but I don't :p And I've already submit the form anyways.

I have tons of projects and it seems like no end to it. I tried to cope with it, but it seems like it has no end to it. Please, give me consentration and focus! After I got paid for that job, I'll try and see if I can be online from home.

Today

Finally, I can chat with Leez! Missed her so much. Oh, yeah, Leez, don't tell anyone about the company name

Been browsing the whole day, besides doing the translation job. Most of the hour of learning spent on this. Had to write them down, of course.

Then came this group of young kids from Petra 2 high school. We gave them a tour. They belong to Friends of the Library. So, it's kinda nice to guide them, they ask so many questions. I hate being a guide for people who just went silent all the time. :p

This is the first week of the current semester. My classes is from Wednesday to Saturday. I'm free in Monday and Tuesday. So, monday nomat here I come! XDD My first class is today, and the teacher didn't show up. I'm in the same class with Chris and Tirta. This morning I was so surprised looking at Chris' forehead. I thought she was hit by something that she had ashes there. It was actually Ash Wednesday. In Indonesian it is much more poetic, Rabu Abu.

Does anyone watch yesterday's Up, Close, and Personal with AFI? Who was it?

Stars and Class

Wasn't doing anything much today. Just sat and browse. My class today is Finance Management and Library Information System. The first class was a surprise because, instead of the actual lecturer, it was an acquintance I met in 2001. He studied in Petra too and we're from the same year :p I don't know if he still remember me. He was very funny and never take anything personal when someone is mad at him.

The second class lasted in two rooms, and two long and fun hours. I was late because I ran home to cook me some lunch. I'm absolutely dead broke. Petra has not transfer my salary yet T_T

The lecturer said to maintain an online journal for the class. More journal, eh? It's already hard to keep up with this one. And we have to create a personal homepage of us and our group for the whole class to look at.

Sites that I browsed today are: Google Images, Tiffany.com, and Corbis.com, I'm looking for a silver necklace with silver star for a layout design. Tiffany one doesn't do any good. I just learn that a carat is equal to 0.20 grams. Nothing else. Not even a picture of a necklace, and the site is full image. Gosh, who code the HTML?

Reflection

I forget, it's pikun's bday on the 25th. So does Feby. I don't forgot Feby's though ;p But, since she's far away in Jakarta and with no cell phone. I couldn't congratulate her. Happy belated birthday to you both, dear friends. And today is my sis' friend Feby b'day. You know when I named my kids in the years to come, I'll think of a more uncommon nicknames.

But, besides that, there are deaths too. President of Macedonia's plane crashed. My friend's father back in highschool died yesterday. Tina SMSed me this afternoon. May they all rest in peace. They gone to a better place.

I SMSed someone back and forth last night, besides you BenChee, I really wanted to hug this person and tell you don't need to be perfect to each and everyone you love. Even yourself.

Had a nice chat with Leez and Bobby this afternoon.

My class for today is lectured by a very strict guy, yet he's so funny, you can't help to always laugh at his comments. I already late once. Gah. No way! Bad mark. Besides quantitative mark, he also has this qualitative coefficient, if it's zero, there's nothing you can do even if your quantitative mark is 100.

AFI diari

Great, I just typed a bunch of entries, and I closed the window.... really clever.

It's about AFI diari two days ago. The guys were planning a plot to surprise Mawar for her birthday. Veri pretended to faint and suddenly he's a medium to a spirit that hates Mawar. He kept yelling, kicking, and tried to attack Mawar. But, there were Kia and house keepers of the boarding house to tackle him down to the bed. Mawar got very scared and cried. Then after 10 minutes of play, he splash her with water and starts singing happy birthday. She jumps him on bed hugged him and starts crying. *move your hands, Mawar* >_<# The next day he kept mock her about last night XDDD

It's the best episode so far.

Reading

With no heart feelings for those who study in Parahyangan Cath. Uni. Fals 5 Pulug-ins Required? Bad grammar is acceptable, but sometimes bad spelling is misunderstood. It's supposed to be Flash 5.

I'm scanning through 6 or more editions of Time Magazine while chatting with Shun-chan. What moves me was those release groups (Centropy, OBUS, MPT) that uploaded movie on the internet. For the Last Samurai, the studio employed around a thousand security guards to hand the film directly to the projection room. Still no luck.

AListApart new articles came out. Check it.

Again, I'm just so lazy to finish something. I didn't do the Project Guttenberg entry for its redesign competition.
