The New Year entry

It's the new year. Lidya had decided that she will moved out. I haven't write down the pros and contras though, but the one thing I hate is to be in the same place with her again. It's true that she's nice now, but what about later? I'm going to have a bath first, continue this later.

Oh, and Koichi-sama, happy birthday!

I don't know!

I don't know why people relates their Christmas wishes with the New Year. That one of my friend thought the New Year is a Christian holiday! Yes, I know there's also the Moslem New Year.

I have two mornings this holiday that I woke up feeling really pleasant and this morning is one of them. You know the feeling that you're being cuddled and hugged the whole night and even the weather is warm.

It's seems that Lidya had a second thought. She's now resenting of moving out. When we walk home from Indomaret yesterday, we knock a few doors and look for another boarding house. There's one in particular that we were able to visit. But, it's terrible! The room is very dark, hot, there's only 2 closet and 2 bath room for 14 people! And it's pretty yucky! The bathroom floor, I mean!

Libi called Lidya to wish a Happy New Year. She's in her office. XDD Guess what my father sent me? Ephi, run out of credit aren't you? Happy New Year! Good luck always! ^^; It might seems bland in English, but he actually wrote it in friendly Ambonese. He send the same thing to Ey. When I called him, he went: "I was waiting for you guys to called or at least SMSed or something!" Well, we're already asleep, father dear! :p

I broke the news to them yesterday. About the boarding fee. T_T

Paris

Uh, it's the first time tabulas.com failed me >_< I think I'm going to download Save Me (the Smallville song).

To replace At the Dolphin Bay, SCTV already had a massive advertising on Westside Story, starring those 5566 boys. Recently, I've been watching Office Lady in TVRI, a Japanese dorama, it was a manga once It's really hillariously stupid!

The best way to predict the future is to invent it
—Alan Kay

Damn, I hate it when Paris got killed! He's Matthew Marsden, who also played in Black Hawk Down.

mini-me—I had fun making myself with this tool XDD

Last night, we watch the sound of music.

Today, my father sent me an SMS confirming that he had sent us money. And I check it about two hours ago. Quite a sum, hmmm? But not all for us. About a million will go to the buy-his-cellphone fund! :p

Wonderful morning

The morning here is so good. I woke up at 6 AM. Last night I turn off the light. Managed to sleep without lighting for the first time, although I think I was awake a couple of times.

To Leez and my dad, happy birthday! :p And to my aunt Ko Nona and my friend Fonny. Why does this date has so many people to congratulate to?

We have heavy rain yesterday and for the first time in years, we have flood in the house, because the sewer was stuck! I came home about 4 PM, because I don't bring any umbrella and end up borrowing the library's umbrella. And all people was mopping the floor! My magazines already stacked on my bed and the rest of my stuff too! Mbak Ha was the one who saved my stuff and mop my room. Thank God! I'm too lazy to do that.

Petra old campus was already flooding when I came down from the 6th floor. I have to look for alternative ways to get home to my boarding house.

Oh, sh~t, I forgot to watch Friends last night! >_<

And I took pictures of the flood in January 2003. Let's wait until I can develop it someday.

RSS Feeder

I think I've mention about syndicating websites way way back ago, when I'm still using the Break Age layout. But, I don't think it was clear back then. Oh, well today, I browsed a lot of things about it and decided to install an RSS feeder for myself. Serious blogs worked but lots of the rest aren't.

People using MT, WordPress, b2, pMachine, etc... who know nothing about this, tends to ERASE their RSS files. Which made me cry like hell. Tabulas and LJ feeds are easy. They follow this pattern:

  • Tabulas: http://xml.tabulets.com/rss/username.rss
  • LiveJournal: http://www.livejournal.com/users/username/rss/
  • b2: /b2rss.php

  • mt: /index.rdf or /index.xml
  • wordpress: /rss.php

I'm sick of pMachine money-oriented access. Sorry this forum is for paid user only! Blah! And blogger, I haven't had the time to do that.

Might be useful link in the future

http://bitworking.org/Aggie.html
a desktop application
http://www.rssreader.com
another desktop application, that I'm using now
http://zvonnews.sourceforge.net/zfeeder.php
to integrate those feeds within a single page (like Friends page)
http://www.blogstreet.com/
since it's beta, it doesn't generate that well, yet! It generates an RSS file for the site that you requested.

All of those desktop applications needs .NET Framework, which made me update my windows and then download the framework for nearly an hour, later found out that we already have it in the download area. Only need less than a minute :p

Dad's Birthday

I called my father and his twin, my aunt, yesterday, just before I fall asleep. I wish them a happy birthday. Unfortunately, it's not. He he he. Mum forgot his birthday and only cook three portion of spicy fish (one of my favorite dish) he he he. Our special food is usually those like nasi kuning and traditional fried chicken.

My mum misses me and so does her sister who talked to me and ask how fat I am now? She used to cook for us and extreemly very nice, she never even once yelled at us. She's one of a very patient person I've ever known.

On the other hand, my father sister, my aunt complains about Wiwin's girlfriend. ^^; She talks for hours about her. Don't say hi to her when you met her and all that stuff! XDD

Angki fuses me yesterday when he asked for money. Nuff said.

But the trip with Susan and Ing yesterday was hella fun. We went to Tunjungan Hotel to submit Ing's portfolio. Then we spend the rest of the day in Tunjungan Plaza. Wee! It's been a while since I went there. I really like them, we kept browsing bookstores and more bookstores. I bought last month's Nakayoshi, debating to bought the Japanese Nakayoshi in Sogo or not, Princess Lessons (recommended by Dhieta), and a year long diary of Our Daily Bread. I bought presents for Ico and for Mbak Ha. Seriously, I'm buying a birthday present for our maid? XDD I don't even get one for Leez!!!

We stand in the Karisma bookstore for about 15 minutes take a look at all web design books available there. We even giggles at the security guards whose shorter compare to Ing, the shortest around us. How come he can became a security guards?

Bad

My skin itches! I got rashes in my left arm and my left hip. The one in the hip is pretty devastating, not the one you should look at, really! And I finally figure it out, if the cord was unplugged the date manager didn't work. It should be shut down and leave it like that, don't unplugged the cable.

I've been reading, or should I say leering at many books I 'borrowed' from the library this holiday. I didn't borrow it, I snuggled it out. I planned to return it little by little because it's heavy. The books are mainly design books. But, before that, I have to read them first. :p See them in the reading section.

Weekend Boredom or Bashful?

Saturday

(Akademi Fantasi Indosiar concert ramblings)

I was dead bored on my first free Saturday of the week. I won't be having another later, though. So I went to borrow some comics. Kamikaze Kaitou Jeanne #3. Err... why did Chiyaki's pants is unzipped when Jeanne found him? What did his father did to him? *gets slapped* XDD Cold Stone last case made me smiled ecchily. Special relationship, eh? They show us the pianist kissing with his partner twice, and his mother reaction when she saw his precious son with his tutor! :E XDD

Oh, that reminds me, of another contestant for the AFI named Dicky. He is so pretty! Dorce said, your name should be Dhieta, not Dicky! XDD But he's no so-so girly, unlike Kia!

Sunday

Uya's song for the film Cinta 24 Karat or 24 Karat Love is quite funny. I saw Jamie Aditya in the latest Coca Cola commercial. XDD

While waiting for Everwood, I saw Josh Groban a little, and Madonna's Love Profusion video, directed by Luc Besson? Isn't he the one who directed Fifth Element? And then turn to MetroTV for Behind the Scene: The Last Samurai, more like of a promotional video.

Also saw Box Office America. Ha ha ha, the parody of Eminem's rap contest had Simon from American Idol! XDDD It's Scary Movie 3.

And also I saw The making of 30 Hari Mencari Cinta or Thirty Days Looking for Love. Starring Nirina and Revaldo. Revaldo is the guy who got chosen to play Rangga in Ada apa dengan Cinta? TV Series. He looks like Gordo of Lizzie MacGuire show! boo!

And Lizzie had a one episode boyfriend XDD The boy's name is Joe Rockicky.

---

It's eleven AM, should be going to work now. I'm supposed to do my KP proposal again, but I brought the wrong file to her house. XD

Frenzi?

Harry Potter fifth installment in Indonesia is indeed a major success. Uranus even open its door at midnight, so that those major hardcore fans could buy them at that precise moment. However, as I say, only major fans did that, and the store is already closed by 2 AM. Gramedia open its doors at 8 AM instead of the usual 10 AM, so people who booked and pay up-front can pick theirs without lining up. However, many do line up to buy them. There are about more than a thousand copies already sold in Surabaya alone. I want to buy it too, but the hardcover version is 114K, compare to the original paperback version, that's not too much of a difference. Besides, I haven't bought my copy of the fourth yet.

Pak Yo just told me that in Jakarta, the promotion is bigger. They setup some cars with specific routes. Whoever can found these cars on their route, can get the book for free. And if you bought the books at specific hours, you get a discount. Wow!

I have them all from the internet, and I managed to buy #1-3 a couple of years ago—and gave them away, but then due to serious financial problems, I had to stop Sigh! Oh, and when I went to TP the other day, Gramedia is filling its windows with only the Order of Phoenix book. Even the people who work there wear the hat! XDD

This morning news reports really makes my eyebrow tweaked. Samdoria? It's Sampdoria, you idiot! And a thai boxing athlete wears make-up before he jumps into the arena. Man, he wears make-up and I don't!

Empty

I just finished one of Danielle Steele's novel. Courtesy of Lidya. Yup, I ran out of readings. Anyway, no one is in the library today. We have a seminar, and that means free food for today. Nya~~

And the new kids introduced themselves today. Heri and Bernard. They don't know me at all. They must haven't check their emails for ages. But, then again, I rarely post email to the mailist these days. I prefer to answer them privately.

I want to read Monster now... Ja!

There's someone from Brunei even blog about it

Just came back from upstairs. We had a food fest ) Ah, and the new parttimers all there. Finally, I knew some of their names: Heri and Bernard. They're from class of 2001 :p

A Review and Saturday night plan

(how to lose a guy in 10 days review)

After yesterday's work hour, Pak X called Wati and told us to pick some cakes upstairs. But, because I was taking too much time to put my things inside my sack (the big blue bear Sophie Martin bag!), Pak X show up when we got out the glass door of the library. And he handed us 7 pieces of cake. I took the plate with 4 cakes and Wati the rest. She even gave me one later. XD

Oh, and after the people from Maranatha tour ended, Pak Yo confirmed me about Petra exhibition or expo.. or whatever. I was confused about the schedule and the shift. Finally decided the second shift on day 4. That's Saturday, Jan 31st, from 3 to 9 PM. Can you believe it? I work at that hour? On my sleeping day? Why? Because I promise and the only time I can do that is at that day and I have to chose that hour because that's the only shift of that day that has a transportation back and forth. T_T Being professional, suck!

Oh, did I mention? Bu Dian straighten her hair, looks terribly cute! And Pak X cut his hair drastically, well he always cuts his hair neatly with some long hair left, hidden. But, not he cut them too. I asked Bu Dian, does he heartbroken or something? XDDD Oh, and it's Bu Dian who suggested me to work on the Saturday, to look for gorgeous men. And I replied, at their date, ma'am? XDDD

Oh, and I almost missed AFI Diary today! Diary with two I no Y! How lame! The pool! T_T I only catch the rest seven minutes. Shoot!

Inspiring quote

I once wrote about something that inspires me from the manga Shanaou Yoshitsune by Hirofumi Sawada. Here's one again. I have to remind you, it's a very bad translation. And what's the word for kebajikan?

If you have Yuu (Courage),
you won't knew the word fear, thus people won't underestimate(?) you.
If you have Chi (Wisdom),
you are able to master any situation that faces you.
If you have Jin (Virtue)
people will respect you.
If you have Shin (Trust)
you won't have to deceive anybody to gain one.
If you have Chuu (Loyalty),
you will never be a traitor.

Thanx, Bart! And why are you guys talking here about bf and gf? XDD

Wonderful Weekend

Whoa, I spent an hour and a half to read people's journals and post comments, then replying a specific email.

I spent my weekends with nothing. I was late to catch my sexy Lex marrying in Smallville, because of a certain James Bond movie.

In Sunday, I had to put up with my uncles smokes so that my brother could meet him. Well, he actually wants to meet us both. And as usual he gave us some money... not even half of the last one though! T_T

Because, he was late, we have to circle TP for bookstores, have my eyes checked. I have a myopic eyes. It's -7 now, but the gentleman who attended me said, he had to prescribe 6.5 since I got dizzy with the 7 lense. And I'm now on cylinder, is this sentence makes any sense?

When we finally met our uncle, he was with *cough* a young man, darn he's good looking. And he turn out to be Allen's cousin. Oh, what a small world it is. But, later he smokes too... oh, well, let him pass. >_<

We went home with dr. Lukman and his family. I forgot his wife's name. She's always so nice to me and I forgot her name! T_T And the kids are getting more and more bulky. Angki even commented about William being a TPA or last place where the trashes gone.

And other Mabudachi Trio bombard me with SMS, actually it was me who bombard them, while watching AFI concert. Also Ey, too. Mwa ha ha. I'll continue later. I've been slacking off too often.

Kerja Praktek

DokiDoki, I finally submitted my proposal. I'm supposed to be working on the project today, but well, we're just managed to see the coordinator at 1:30 this afternoon. After that, we copied what she asked for, then asking for our lecturer in charge signature. Guess who? It's Arie :D We've been joking about what if he got to be our LIC, since we sample his proposal format. XDD

Both he and Pak Djoni (sort of) complains of the number of documents they have to sign. OK, for those of you who hadn't had theirs, please copy those before you ask their signatures.

Angki cut his hair down to 5 mm, since yesterday Ko Ade told him to cut his hair! *am still amazed*

Wooh

I was out yesterday. My uncle called me and ask if I had something better to do. He told me if I want to go with Aunt Sandy (not his wife, he's not married) to Pasar Atom. Uh, yes, since I never went there before. I waited for almost half an hour outside, until the car came.

A marinir(?) drive the car. Aunt Sandy's hubbie is a marinir doctor. He opens the door for me. We drove to the Navy hospital first, she had to go to a clinic. Then we spend the last 4 hours circling Pasar Atom. Gosh, my feet really hurts, you know!

There are lots of stuff to look at, especially with the upcoming Chinese New Year. All stores are decorated in red. Makes me dizzy. Then she take me to bought some sweets. The usual funny-taste sweets from orange skin and a weird taste looking like a green grape fruit. I nearly throw up eating it, if it wasn't for decency, I won't eat it, gah! Don't marry a Chinese nor a Torajan! XDD *disambit*

After that we were trapped in traffic jam for about an hour, we went to Oom Lukman's office, it's so formal. He's a Navy doctor, so it's kinda scary there. He asked about this book, he only own a copy of that book, a true copy not an exemplar of the book, so basically the pictures are not that clear. He wants some color illustration on tropical poisonous plants and sea animals, can you help me, tYaS? Suggest a book or two, pretty please?

I recognize bella donna, the plant that show up in one of Master Keaton case. Well, he was a survival instructor for the SAS right? XD

After the ceremonial goodbye, we headed to my place. Oh, I'm tired

But, Feby confirmed our lunch-or-dinner treat. So, me and Lidya spend the whole evening with her and her sister in Wapo Unair. Damn, it's crowded, the interior design is neat, and the bathroom is clean. The only thing makes it less-attractive is, people is allowed to smoke inside the place. The food was nice, too. We only ate for about 10 minutes, three plates of rice, a plate of fry-dry chicken, a plate of fried-with-flour shrimps, and a plate of cap cay, was finished in a blink of an eye. XDD Headed home is difficult, we can't get the usual transportation, we ended up have to use taxi on our second change of transportation on the way home. We arrive half past nine, I'm terribly tired. End of story.

Learn Japanese

I'm learning Japanese via Takasugi Shinji's page. It's interesting. I guess (s)he is a linguist. He even mention Indonesian in the site

Oh, so there are two Romanization: Kunrei and Hepburn. And that's why people are debating whether to use senpai or sempai! XDD

He he he... it's confusing. And while Indonesian have seven words to describe days without mentioning the name of the actual day (kemarin dulu, kemaren, hari ini, besok, besok lusa, tulah, ....) duh, I forgot the last one! Japanese only have 6 words.

I guess that's it for today. I'm going to continue soon.

Terrible

This weekend is not too good for me. I'm terribly depressed by that stupid lecturer. Who does he think he is? On a brighter side, Ku Ade called and invite me and Angki to TP. We met at Excelso as always. He pour out what's in his heart about her sisters and brothers. Well, I just listen to him obidiently, while Angki doesn't talk that much. Angki later said that he doesn't enjoyed listening to that kind of things. Yup, me too, you can hate people but not your own family!

He gave us ang pao. We split up with him around 4 PM. Angki was very patient. He choose a pair of jeans for me, when I said I need one. And even resize the leg so I can see, if it looks good on me, if I cut it later. But, I didn't buy any. XD Then we went to look for shirts and since Teguh grumbling about finding a jeans jacket, I tried to look out. And there's plenty we didn't catch last Tuesday.

We're practically want to go here and there, but when the impulse attack hit us, we walk into any store XDD First Karisma, I got myself a Japanese dictionary and Animonster there, I didn't saw it on Thursday, nor did I got any money to bought one at that time. Second is Sogo bookstore. I browsed for a long time, thinking where's Nakayoshi. When I saw Ciao, I thought it was Nakayoshi and I took it to the cashier! *ba~~ka* Seriously, it's still is expensive compare to the original price and the airmail fee for that thing couldn't be more than 10K right?

Then we went to Gramedia again. Doing nothing and finally went out and head to Gunung Agung. Angki wants to buy a new wallet. After he got one, he wants to buy something. Either a pants or a shirt. Since he doesn't feel comfortable shopping with anybody, I said I'll wait for him in Mon Cheri for an ice cream. He shopped long enough and when we got together again, it's already past 7 PM.

We took a cab ride home. Saturday night with a good brother is better than with any other men. :p Sis, when will you came here? I'm free until February 23rd.

Pure CSS pop up that works in IE

Anyways, I'm glad it's over.

Lately Lidya has been speaking in Medanese dialect. It's so funny since it's about teasing Veri. The bosses are not here. One of them went to Medan with Pak Adi (who's going to get married in Valentine's Day ) and Pak Yo is in TP right now. That reminds me, where are you, Shun?

Forgotten entry

Refering to my last entry on CSS pop up that works in IE, I'm thinking that we might be able to create a pop menu without JavaScript with the same principle.

I musn't forget to enter in the WordPress CSS-based layout competition. But what to do?

Below are the things I want to blog at the 16th.

Had anyone notice the SIMpati Siaga ad with Batak dialect? It's the same commercial as the previous one, except for that dialect XDD

Oh, and does anyone, like me, curious about where is the ISBN for m&c comics. That's like publishing a pirated books. EVERY book should has its ISBN printed on the back of the book as well as in the catalogue entry. Now, where is it?

AFI diary for the 15th, imagine if you don't meet your lover for a decade... abang Veri.. jangan peluk orang lain! *LOL* I like AFI so much, it's like combining MTV's Real World with American Idol. And when I thought I missed today's AFI, the time slot is actually re-located at 18:30. And darn, I didn't know that, so I missed it, too!

Take my hands—Dorothy Clark W. → I don't know what this means.

HP baru? → same for this one.

Alice 19th—Watase Yuu's work. It's great but the opening scene is just too lame for my liking. Oh, I know there's those pirated version up to something volumes. But, I don't buy or rent pirated books.

Kanbayashi dan Kirika—The artwork is terrible for some people, but to me the story itself is what matters concerning this manga. It's captivating, unpredictable, and you couldn't help it not to like both Kanbayashi-san and Yuki-kun *evil grin* No, I'm not imagining something yaoish you pervert!

Erwin Chandra - he's an actor in Malam Pertama (contextually means Wedding Night, but the usual translation would probably First Night), a series who featured Marcella Zalianti as a radio talkshow host with Malam Pertama as the theme. This guy acts as her first boyfriend. And I can swear I remember him being a model back when I was in Elementary School or Jr. High. Something like that, but he's not a model here in Indo. Or is he related to that model? Oh, well.

Internship and Working

Yesterday, Beby went to pick up our letter-to-the-company that we had to hand over to the company we supposed to work for KP. But then, the letter hadn't came out. I had to run from the library and went to the AO. I have to ask her to check the lecturer room, whether or not that stupid one is inside. She told me there's only Arie.

We waited for the AO staffs for almost an hour with Eli whose working with her project. She carried laptop here and there, remembering her small figure, it must have been really heavy ~_~ Since we're getting a no-no from the AO office about our letter, I rushed in and yelled at our LIC's first name, only to realize that there's another lecturer in the room *blush* You're not suppose to call a lecturer without their proper salutation in the academic area. He's not very helpful >_<

We had to waited for Bu Yulia. Our LIC said the other day, that she's leaving to UI. Either to teach or to earn master degree, I don't know. But, she's very smart, so I guess she went there to teach. She was packing her belongings. Arie was using her desk before, so I guess our LIC will have her desk. It's so sad. My only favorite lecturer left will go away too! *sniff* Today is her last day. I did asked about a few things. And she tried to make a conversation by saying, that she saw me the other day in a becak. But, I'm just not good at speaking, replied, "Oh, I was on my way home from the church!"

Then I remember Pak Yusuf sat down next to me and asked. "Ephi, when will you graduated?" *thump* Am I going to get fired? "Er... around this December?" Oh, we just want you to know if you're interested in working here... bla bla bla... What a relieve! I thought they're going to fired me! XDD

I hate this!

His last email are far more civilized than the previous one. Seriously, I don't know how to answer if he didn't tell me his perspective not until this last one.

He even 'yelled' in his emailed asking me whether or not I'm a Christian? Sadly to say, that's not for you to judge. So far, the one is in the question is you. It was you who send those stupid privacy questions and keep insisting the answer when I don't want to answer. An appropriate quote from my sister: Jumawa banget lu!

Anyways, that's a relieve, besides the nominal in my bank account when I check it today. Twice as much as last month. Probably not much for some people, but to me it is much.
